The ingredient list for the masque is actually very short and is mainly made up of the three active ingredients which are the AHA’s Lactic Acid. Asiatic Acid and Mandelic Acid. The combination of these lowers the pH of the skin which boosts collagen production and this leads to fresher, plumper looking skin. The AHA’s also work to even out skin tone.
The Revival Masque can be used on all skin types but because it is so active it’s recommended that you start by applying a thin layer for 10mins twice a week building up to 20mins three times a week. It can also be used with the Environ Cosmetic Roll-CIT if you’ve been using that needling system already.
The product itself is pretty much odorless and has a thin lotion-like consistency. It stung a bit the first time I used it but that went after my third application. It dries on the skin leaving it feeling slightly tight but it feels smooth and firm once the residue has been rinsed off. That’s my experience anyway. One thing to be aware of is that it can leave the skin more sensitive to the sun so you need to apply a broad spectrum SPF daily, but that’s something everyone should be doing anyway!
Environ is a brand I have a lot of faith in. It is one I often recommend to 35+ women who want to introduce retinols into their routine and I’m currently using several of their other products myself. Initially, I was confused by their products and ranges but they’re actually easy to understand once you’ve been talked through it. It’s a brand that’s grown by reputation and results i.e from word of mouth recommendations and customers staying loyal to it. They don’t do big advertising campaigns or have celebrity endorsements. Thinking about it, the reason it’s probably not written about in magazines more often is because it doesn’t advertise. It’s only available at authorized salons as they want to make sure the products you buy are going to be the best ones for your skin type and concerns.
